it would be great if somebody who actually used yacht supply service in Croatia could leave a feedback... thanks.

hello beth-bee,
we actually used the yacht supply service in Croatia, twice!
the first time we ordered our provisioning through a list from the agency where we booked the yacht in 2005. everything went well, all the food was delivered to the yacht and we got everything we ordered.
what made me mad -was that later we noticed that the prices of the same products were so much cheaper in regular groceries shops in the town! I did expect a mark-up for the service of the agency, but not 100% mark up!
so the next time we went to Croatia, in 2008 we didn't order provisioning, we just went to a big supermarket near the marina and bought everything. it was cheaper, but it took forever; as we did not know the products and we had to read all the labels to find out what's what.
than last year, 2009 we got a really late flight to Split, and we asked the agency if they can arrange at least some basic provisioning -and they recommended jamyachtsupply.
I checked the prices a little, and since the prices were reasonable we ordered all the provisioning with them.
I paid with my credit card over the telephone!
the food was on board when we got to the marina, all the products were there and we did not have to waist time!
if we go sailing in Croatia again, I will use their services!
one more thing: don't order fresh fish -as in all the small towns you can meet the local fishermen and buy great fresh fish from them, cheaper and better than in the shops!

thanx for sharing Barbara!
we used a provisioning service in Greece once, but never yet in Croatia.
I like the idea to just get the dry goods and drinks in advance, and get fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and fish along the way.... as the towns on the islands usually have small markets where the local farmers sell their products!
I think we will make the order with jamyachtsupply!

I have been offered a provisioning list by the charter agency, the prices seem to be reasonable but I have never been to Croatia before so I don't know what to compare them to!
has someone been to Croatia before, do you know if the prices here at jamyachtsupply are OK?
I appreciate your help! :)

Tania,
compared to other suppliers these prices are among lowest.
You can perhaps do better if you go to supermarket yourself, but it's not worth the time and the effort.
Traffic in Croatia during summer can make your vacation a nightmare. JYS delivers goods to your boat. For free as they say. If you ask me, this could be even cheaper than renting a cab or a van and spending half day shopping.
