Šibenik
Šibenik is one of the oldest Croatian cities on the Adriatic and the cultural, educational, administrative and economic center of Šibenik-Knin County. It is also called Krešimir's town because it was first mentioned in 1066 in the grant of King Petar Krešimir IV.

It is located at 43˚44 'north latitude and 15˚55 east longitude. Šibenik has a unique position compared to other Croatian cities because it is located in a spacious bay at the flooded mouth of the river Krka, and is connected by a narrow channel of St. Anthony. Which makes it one of the best Adriatic natural harbors.

It is connected to the nearest major cities by Split in the southeast (80 km away) and Zadar in the northwest (79 km away) by the Adriatic Highway, highway and railway. It is also connected to the nearest airports, namely Zadar Airport in the north and Split Airport in the south. In case you need transportation either from the airport or any destination to Sibenik, we recommend that you use the services of JAM Transfer .

The landscape of the region is very diverse, and the sea is the greatest wealth and basic natural resource that determines the economic basis. Near Šibenik there are 2 national parks, Krka in the interior and Kornati on the sea, which is most often reached by sailboats.

The climate is distinctly Mediterranean. Summers are hot and dry, but refreshment comes from a wind called the mistral that blows from the sea to the mainland.

Culture
The biggest cultural event in Šibenik is certainly the International Children's Festival, which has been held since 1958. Other cultural events include the Dalmatian Chanson Festival and the Terraneo Festival. All three events take place in the summer.

Monuments and landmarks

Nikola joined in 2017. on that list. In addition to these two world-renowned cultural monuments, it is worth mentioning the fortress of St. Anthony, which guards the entrance to the Šibenik canal and the Barone Fortress , which was built in 1646 northeast of the historic center of Šibenik and the former city walls.
