Tyrael chooses to keep his mortal form but is reunited with his angelic brothers to transform into The Aspect Justice and of Wisdom. Diablo 3 ends with him considering whether his new mortal companion, who is likely to be corrupted, could one day become the next danger in Heaven, Hell, and Sanctuary and even life itself. There's a reason that Aspect of Justice and Wisdom is likely to not sit idle as Inarius marches an army upon Hell to find his old love, Lilith.
 
The latest Diablo 4 cinematic trailer from Blizzard has Inarius facing down Lilith with armies on both of their backs. While this footage doesn't include Tyrael's personal involvement, his design of the Horadrim as well as his influence on the Paladins from Sanctuary ensures that he's in the game. Light and dark clash at the front, and the sadly dead Tyrael is somewhere in between.
 
His presence will be detected through these intermediaries, unless events take his hands. Tyrael still feels the negative effects of destroying his Worldstone at the conclusion of Diablo 2. The mysterious artifact guarded Sanctuary from Heaven and Hell and he protects the area in its place. Tyrael does not appear likely to lead any further ventures into Hell or venture much further beyond to the Pandemonium Fortress, where he might provide advice similar to Deckard Cain to those who will stay and listen.
 
Five playable Diablo classes have been released so far and they all offer alternatives to the earlier games. Given each installment so far has offered something new, perhaps Tyrael will become a hand in the battle, balancing the sides by providing players with the possibility to summon angelic or demonic abilities in exchange for duty to Sanctuary. This type of game mechanic is likely to be similar to the multi-tree enhancement that was already in the game.
