Zadar

Zadar is a city on the Adriatic Sea, also the center of Zadar County. It is the second largest city in Dalmatia and the fifth largest in Croatia.

Zadar is located at 44 ° 06 'north latitude and 15 ° 13' east longitude. It is located in the center of the Croatian part of the eastern coast of the Adriatic Sea, protected by the island of Ugljan from the influence of the open sea and the fertile lowland called Ravni kotari in its hinterland.

Zadar has excellent road, boat and air connections. With the construction of the highway at the beginning of the 21st century, Zadar has become a city that can be reached from some Central European cities in less than a day's drive. It is connected by ferry lines with Italy (Ancona) and most of the islands in its archipelago. Monuments and landmarks
The biggest attraction in Zadar is the Cathedral of St. Donat which was built in the early 9th century which is a display of early Byzantine architecture in the early Middle Ages. It was named after the bishop who had it built. Along with Zadar, we should definitely mention the Forum, more precisely the sidewalk of the main square from Roman times, the construction of which began in the 1st century BC.
